Char Siu Pork and Tofu Stir Fry

I picked up some lean pork from Coles and some chinese greens today. The pork was on special, I think, why are they so cheap? Hmmm...so I marinated the pork fillets in char siu paste and grilled it. While that is on the grill, I also stirfried some tofu with chinese broccoli. After the pork had cooked, I sliced it and threw it into the wok to toss around with the stirfry. The result, a very tasty char siu infused stirfry ;) Yummo! This is not a good week to give up carbs but I am going to try to reduce my rice intake..Yup, be forewarned, please stay away from this hungry angry ninja!

All things chilli

So I put off baking again this weekend on the account that there were so much rain and I needed a chilli fix rather than a sugar hit. It's been raining non stop for the last three days and the sun has finally come out today. Getting home last Friday was a bit of an adventure, avoiding the flooded roads etc etc. but yours truly got home safe and sound.

Here are some pix of what I made that evening. I missed this dish so much; sambal ikan bilis. It's not exactly the best quality but it tasted awesome. Another one is my all time favourite, chilli prawns. So I had them over two days, so shiok! Next week, I am going to cook vegetable acar!

Morning Tea

Today we had a little celebration, a work colleague is leaving and she hosted a morning tea. I am not sure why we celebrate a person's departure, it is quite sad really, losing another valuable member. I am going to miss her giggles. But the spread was good, awesome even! I had to skip lunch because of morning tea. I was starving in the morning becoz I had forgotten to eat dinner last nite, was too busy catching up with too many vampire stories. So anyway, here are some of the photos;of course I ate everything on sight..take no prisoners, what I always say ;)

Wagga Thai House

Couple weeks ago, I mentioned that I had the best lunch ever at Wagga Thai House. Well, the lunch was superb so we had to go back again. And again. And each time I would forget to take a photo of the food because I gobbled it down too fast. This week I made sure that I take at least one photo on my iphone before the food disappeared. This is chicken with garlic and pepper, our absolute favourite.

It's becoming a regular thing for Helena (my work sidekick) and I to go downtown for lunch at least once a week for Thai. For whatever reasons, it seems to calm me and make me zen all over again after a hectic workload. Yes, I get very stressed at work. I have pcs and monitors coming out of my ears!

I used to relieve stress by going to Bunnings at lunchtime to be in the garden nurseries, ah....so zen.... and perved at hot looking tradies. Meh! They are on to me I guessed, coz Bunnings moved to other side of town which is too far away from work. DRATS!

So now, my stress reliever is Thai food. Have I mentioned it is super yummo and I am almost tempted not to share this little secret place of mine? But they really do deserved a shout out.

How cute is their menu?

Seriously, I am so excited and I can't wait for the 7th Oct for the Australian screening of Eat Pray Love

I have just watched the trailer and saw some yummy food photos as well and.... "will somebody please slap me now, I so want to be on that plane now."

Hmm, how nice to take off for a year ... imagine doing that? I would totally love it! Look at those pastries, how good is that?

Strawberries are Us!

Daylight savings confuses the hell out of me, so sad that I lose an hour of sleep this weekend. My only consolation for all these changes is that the sun is out, flowers are blooming and I see red berries everywhere, strawberries that is!

I wanted to get some blueberries and raspberries and blackberries as well, but maybe another time, I just know that too much of the berries are not a good thing.. hehehehe!

Here's to you Karen, because she loves her strawberries so much..  ;) It will still be here in December when you fly to Oz ;)
